Sheriff Howard Niemeier

Sheriff Niemeier began his law enforcement career in 1981 with the Augusta Police Department.
In 1984 he went to the Newport Police Department where he served 26 years rising through the
ranks to the position of Captain. Sheriff Niemeier has a Masters Degree in Public Administration
and a Bachelors Degree in Justice Studies. He is also a graduate of the 237th session of the FBI
National Academy. He, his wife Jeannie, and daughter, Tianna, live outside of Augusta. He also
has three grown kids, Haley, Jason and Kristia, with eight grandchildren. He is a 1976 graduate of
Augusta High School.

Chief Deputy Bob Scott

Robert (Bob) Scott is the Chief Deputy with the Bracken County Sheriff's Department. Bob retired
from the Kentucky Stet Police where he was a Trooper and Detective for 27 years. Bob was also the
Chief of the Falmouth Police Department for 5 years before coming to the Bracken County Sheriff's
Department. Bob is married to Markea Scott who is a Lieutenant with the Greater Cincinnati
Northern Kentucky International Airport. Bob has three daughters and five grandsons. He and Mareka
live on a farm outside of Brooksville.

Deputy Chris Baker

After working for the Internal Revenue Service in Cincinnati Deputy Baker made a career
change to law enforcement to help the public. In 2004 he graduated from the Department of
Criminal Justice Training Center on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.
In December of 2008, he became a sheriff?s deputy after serving on the Augusta Police
Department for four years. He and wife, Andi, have two children, Zaine and Paige. He is
a graduate of Holmes High School and is the son of Wanda and Buddy Baker.

Deputy Ian Kelsch

Ian Kelsch officially became a member of the Sheriff's Department on Monday, July 19. Before
joining the Sheriff?s Department he was an officer on the Augusta Police Department for two
years, and worked the last two years as a Flemingsburg Police Officer. He is the son of Tony
and Dawn Kelsch of Augusta and Deanna and Frank Smith of Brooksville. Ian and his wife, Amity,
have one daughter, Savannah.

Deputy John (Johnnie Mac) Riley, Jr.

Deputy Riley began his law enforcement career in 1996 with the Falmouth Police Department
after graduating from the Department of Criminal Justice Training Center in Richmond.
Deputy Riley served on the Cynthiana and Mount Olivet Police Departments before joining
the Brooksville Police Department in April of 2003. A year later he joined the Sheriff's
Department. He is a 1984 graduate of Bracken County High School and the son of Joann and
Johnnie M. Riley, Sr. He is married to Lisa M. Riley and has a son A.J. Deputy Riley is
with the Army National Guards 299th Chemical Company out of Maysville. He joined the
Army after high school in 1985.

Janet Rankin Morris - Clerk

Serving as the Bracken County Sheriff's Clerk is Janet Rankin Morris. She began as the part time
bookkeeper for the Sheriff's Department in 2007 before taking over as clerk in January of 2009. She
is a 1975 graduate of Mason County High School and the daughter of Lela Rankin and the late Hubert
Rankin. She had husband, Dean Morris, live in Augusta and have two children, Kristin Layne Morris
and Bradley Dean Morris.
