Robert "Bobby" Boody, the current Bracken County Sheriff began serving his first term in 2023.  Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Bobby has proudly served over 27 years of principled law enforcement service since beginning his career in 1995 with the Jefferson County Police Department.  In 1998 Bobby accepted a Police Officer position with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department in Broward County, Florida.  Subsequently, in 2001 Bobby transitioned to a position as a State Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol where he served in many capacities.  In 2014 Bobby returned home to the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Deputy with the Bracken County Sheriff's Office, not knowing that nine years later he would have the honor of being elected Sheriff by our community.  

During his career, Bobby has held a variety of assignments and responsibilities.  Those include D.U.I. enforcement, Criminal Drug Interdiction, S.W.A.T., dignitary protection, canine handler, law enforcement instructor, firearms instructor, driving instructor and field training officer.  As a result of these many positions Bobby has been afforded the opportunity to obtain a wide variety of training and experience.  Bobby is proud to serve as your Sheriff and is guided by his strong moral values, work ethic and integrity.  He is committed to serving all people by doing what is legal, moral and ethical.
